Work schedule

  • Except for exceptions, work teams will be on site Monday to Friday from 7 am to 7 pm.

Traffic

  • Depending on the progress of the work, streets may be partially or completely closed to vehicular traffic.

  • At all times, pedestrian access to the buildings located near the construction site will be preserved. Driveways will generally be accessible, but may be hampered in some phases.

  • We ask you to respect the signs, the detour paths and to reduce your speed on the site.

Impacts of the work

  • Temporary Power Connection: Residents who are affected by major work on the water system will be connected to a temporary power system during the duration of the work. Affected residents will receive the contractor visit and documentation with additional explanations.

  • Water Outage: Affected residents and businesses will be notified by a notice 48-72 hours in advance in the event of a planned water outage.

  • Street Parking: Parking restrictions will be applied in and around the work area.

  • New curbs on rue Georges and rue Evelina: The introduction of new curbs on rue Georges and rue Evelina could lead to more significant adjustments to the grounds, including driveways, while making sure to keep acceptable terrain slopes towards the street.

  • Noise and dust: Possibility of noise and dust generated by the passage of trucks in the work area. Watering operations will be carried out when required.

  • Collection: The waste collection and recycling schedule will be maintained for the duration of the work. If required, the Contractor will move the bins to the side of the road at the beginning of the day and return them to their place at the end of the day. It is important to identify the bins (temporarily) in order to allow them to return to the residence or business. Unidentified bins will not be returned and will remain at the collection point near the site.

  • Heavy vehicle transport: In order to avoid problems in detour roads, it would be appreciated if heavy transport used other roads allowing this type of transport.

  • Landscaping: Residents are advised not to do landscaping in or near the municipal street right-of-way during the construction period. Since the work may impact slightly beyond the municipal right-of-way, it would be a pity to damage new plantations. Please be assured that surfaces that will be damaged as a result of the work will be repaired. However, if certain developments are located within the municipal right-of-way, they may not be able to be restored as a result of the work.

Citizens directly affected by this work will receive subsequent communications to inform them of the progress of the work.

The Ville de Lachute is aware of the inconvenience this work will cause and thanks you for your cooperation.
