Lachute, November 17, 2025 – Ville de Lachute wishes to inform the public that the boil water notice has now been lifted
Lachute, November 11, 2025 – Ville de Lachute wishes to inform residents that work on the water distribution network will cause a water service interruption on Wednesday, November 12, starting at 8 a.m., for the entire day, for the area of Simon Street. A precautionary boil water advisory will then be in effect for the same area.
Boil Water Advisory
During the boil water advisory, you must boil your water for 1 minute before consuming it. Tap water may be colored. In such cases, it is suggested to open the cold water taps and let the water run until it becomes clear before consuming it. We also suggest you avoid doing laundry.
Lifting of the Boil Water Advisory
Ville de Lachute will notify affected residents as soon as the boil water advisory is lifted. Typically, a boil water advisory lasts an average of 72 hours (3 days). Samples will be taken to check the water quality. If the results are negative, the boil water advisory can be lifted within 48 to 72 hours, unless otherwise advised.
Ville de Lachute is aware of the inconvenience that this work may cause. Please be assured that all necessary measures will be taken to minimize the impact.

Lachute, November 14, 2025 – Due to recent weather conditions, the flow tests on fire hydrants could not be completed. They will continue next week, from Monday, November 17 to Friday, November 21, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Thank you for your understanding.
Lachute, November 7, 2025 – Ville de Lachute wish to inform the public that a drop in water pressure and episodes of colored water may could occur from Monday, November 10 to Friday, November 14, during the day, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.due to flow tests on fire hydrants.
If you have colored water at home, we recommend letting it run until it becomes clear again before consuming it. We also suggest avoiding doing laundry during this time.
These flow tests will determine and indicate the water supply capacity of each hydrant. Subsequently, the hydrants will be identified with a standard color code to quickly identify available flow rates and facilitate fire department operations.
